Abstract. Tuberculosis patients who suffer from malnutrition have more severe forms of the disease, high risks of death and poor treatment outcomes. In this regard, we present a clinical observation of a 38-year-old female patient and a 42-year-old male patient (husband and wife) hospitalized at the Central research institute of tuberculosis in February 2024 in a severe clinical condition. Upon admission, the patients had severe inflammatory syndrome and generalized tuberculous process in lung tissue with massive bacterial excretion. Moreover, there was a pronounced protein-energy deficiency, which led to the rapid progression of a specific process. A comprehensive approach is needed to treat that certain category of patients, which should not be limited to the use of anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy drugs.
