Malignant neoplasm of the jejunum in outpatient practice: Diagnostic challenges
Abstract. Malignant tumors of the small intestine represent a pathology, the diagnosis of which is often complicated due to the non-specific clinical picture and anatomical inaccessibility of the organ for routine endoscopic methods in outpatient practice. The article presents a clinical case of a female patient with a nine-year history of gastroenterological complaints, multiple visits for medical care, and recurrent episodes of gastrointestinal bleeding in recent years. Throughout this time, the symptoms were regarded as a manifestation of functional dyspepsia, chronic gastritis, colitis, postcholecystectomy syndrome, and other diseases. The diagnosis was established only after performing video capsule endoscopy, which revealed an ulcerated subepithelial lesion in the area of the ligament of Treitz, subsequently verified as a malignant neoplasm of the jejunum (C17). This case highlights the critical importance of early oncological vigilance in chronic recurrent abdominal pain syndrome associated with melena and anemia of unknown origin.V.V. Frolov, O.V.
