Training of primary care physicians to manage pregnant female patients with somatic pathology
Abstract. Current article discusses the management of somatic diseases in pregnant females as a part of the educational process for the specialty program in “General medicine” to prepare primary care physicians (general practitioners) for practical work. The approaches to the examination and routing of pregnant women by primary care physicians are presented. Aspects of preventive work with females (beginning with pre-pregnancy preparation) aimed at identifying the main risk factors for chronic diseases and conditions that potentially affect the probability of impregnation and carrying of a pregnancy are considered. It also examines the specifics of prescribing drug therapy during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and pregnancy planning. An unfavorable pregnancy can lead to high cardiovascular risk in the future. Therefore, training in the management of pregnant female patients with somatic pathologies by primary care physicians, as well as monitoring during the postpartum period, especially the late postpartum period, is a fundamentally important element of the educational process at a medical university.G.P.
